Tangerang, Banten (KPMI Bogor) – Komunitas Pengusaha Muslim Indonesia (KPMI) bekerja sama dengan Tahira Group dari Malaysia, Halal International China (Hong Kong dan Makau), serta Thai Muslim Trade Association, meluncurkan ASEAN Halal Pavilion di sela-sela gelaran Muslim LifeFest 2024, Jumat.

Tangerang, Banten (Indonesia Window) – The Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneurs Community (locally known as its abbreviation KPMI) in collaboration with Tahira Group from Malaysia, Halal International China (Hong Kong and Macau), and the Thai Muslim Trade Association, launched the ASEAN Halal Pavilion on the sidelines of the Muslim LifeFest 2024, here on Friday.

The international event is being held simultaneously with two other events, namely Muslim EduFest and Jakarta Halal Expo and Conference (JHEC), at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) in Tangerang city, Banten province, from August 30 to September 1, 2024.

“Developing the halal economy and industry in the ASEAN region and the world requires collaboration and synergy, to produce concrete and actionable steps,”  the Head of the Central KPMI, Rachmat Sutarnas Marpaung, said in his speech at the launching event.

Recognising the challenges that Muslim travellers may face, Malaysia’s Muslim-friendly tourism platform, HalalHolidays.asia, recently announced an official collaboration with the Thai Muslim Trade Association (TMTA), with the goal of promoting premium destinations in Thailand and throughout the Asian region.

The strategic partnership was revealed on August 16 at the Thai Muslim Trade Association (TMTA) Networking Dinner Talk with the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD) in Bangkok.

The platform, which is part of the Tahira Group, was created to provide informative halal-friendly information to would-be Muslim travellers. The company is a leading Malaysian conglomerate focused on halal logistics and supply chain solutions. With over two decades of experience, it has established itself as a pioneer in the provision of comprehensive halal-compliant services across multiple industries.

The unveiling of the ASEAN Halal Pavilion by Tahira Group at the Malaysian International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2024 marks a significant step in fostering collaboration within the ASEAN halal industry. Launched in Kuala Lumpur by Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who also chairs the Malaysian Halal Industry Development Council, the pavilion showcases the growing network of halal producers, traders, and service providers across ASEAN.
