At Tahira, Abdul Rahim oversees the corporate finance and capital management activities of the Group that include corporate and project funding strategy, new investments, joint ventures and collaborations.
Abdul Rahim brings over 30 years of professional experience covering areas of corporate finance, corporate advisory, financing & financial restructuring, and investor relations. His early career with international accounting firm Ernst & Young, and Bumiputra Merchant Bankers Berhad enabled him to hold key management roles in several public listed companies where he was involved in various corporate finance activities including equity and debt capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, financial restructuring, and initial public offering.
Prior to joining Tahira, Abdul Rahim spent 15 years in the Oil & Gas sector beginning with Kencana Petroleum Berhad (KPB) (2004 to 2013) and Barakah Offshore Petroleum Berhad (2013-2019). During his tenure with KPB, several of his successes include the listing of KPB on Bursa Malaysia, capital raising exercises via equity and sukuk issuance and acquisition of companies for the Group business expansion. He was also involved in the merger exercise between KPB and SapuraCrest Petroleum Berhad from formulation of the merger strategy to the execution of the merger from start to completion.
